No, tolerance doesn’t mean you can tolerate intolerance


Tolerance is the idea that doing or thinking anything is fine, even if it’s different or you disagree with it, because it doesn’t cause harm. 

Things are wrong because they cause harm so things that don’t cause harm cannot be wrong. No matter how different something is, or how strange it may seem, or how much of a personal disagreement there is, it isn't wrong based on its difference. This is the very point of tolerance. 

Tolerance isn't about accepting everything. It never has been nor never will be.

Intolerance causes harm. If tolerance is excepting everything that is harmless, it therefore disavows everything that is harmful. If tolerance doesn’t tolerate harmful things, and intolerance causes harm, it is thus logically impossible to tolerate intolerance.
