Tolerance
is the idea that doing or thinking anything is fine, even if it’s different or
you disagree with it, because it doesn’t cause harm.
Things are wrong because
they cause harm so things that don’t cause harm cannot be wrong. No matter how
different something is, or how strange it may seem, or how much of a personal disagreement there is, it isn't wrong based on its difference. This is the
very point of tolerance.
Tolerance isn't about accepting everything. It never has
been nor never will be.
Intolerance
causes harm. If tolerance is excepting everything that is harmless, it therefore disavows everything that is harmful. If tolerance doesn’t tolerate harmful
things, and intolerance causes harm, it is thus logically impossible to tolerate intolerance.
